Pickled Onions
Ingredients
500 grams pickling onions
1 heaped tablespoon sugar
1 heaped tablespoon golden syrup
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pickling spice
white vinegar
Method
Soak onions in cold water
Peel, trim ends and put into 1lb jars
To each 1lb jar add the sugar, golden syrup, salt and pickling spice
Fill the jar with vinegar making sure that all the onions are covered
Cover but do not seal
Leave 2-3 weeks before eating
